President Mamnoon Hussain underlined the need on taking effective and concrete measures to weed out the curse of corruption from the society adding that eradication of corruption is imperative for attaining national progress.
The President was talking to Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Qamar Zaman Chaudhary who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The President said that corruption poses grave threat to the very fabric of society and called for vehemently discouraging corrupt elements.
During the meeting, Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhary presented Annual Report 2014 to President Mamnoon Hussain. The President said that societies without effective system of accountability and transparency cannot progress, adding that elimination of corruption is crucial for progress and stability of a country.
The President also called for creating awareness against the ill-effects of corruption. The President called upon NAB to adopt zero tolerance policy against corruption and fight more vigorously to obliterate the curse.
