President Mamnoon Hussain emphasized on taking effective measures for enhancing literacy ratio in the country adding that for this purpose inclusion of women in national manpower was imperative.
The President said this while talking to Chairperson National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) Razina Alam Khan who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday. Federal Secretary for Ministry of Education and Professional Training Muhammad Imtiaz Tajwar was also present on the occasion.
The President stated that low literacy ratio is the cause for most of the country’s problems. The President called for bringing women in the mainstream for enhancing literacy ratio so that those segments of society who do not approve of coeducation send their daughters to educational institutions. The President directed to include the subjects of Islamic History and Indo-Pak History in education curriculum for creating improved awareness amongst children about history so that they become good citizens and good human beings. Emphasizing on the training of teachers, the President called for establishing institutions in this regard so that teachers could impart quality education to children.
