President Mamnoon Hussain has said that though there is a need to raise the budget allocation for education and health sectors but the government is unable to do the same due to paucity of resources. It is therefore essential that the nation stands up against the corruption so that the national resources could be spent on their welfare.
The President said this while addressing the inaugural session of the 11thAnnual meeting of the Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine (ATTM) here in Islamabad on Friday.
The President stated that in order to control the spread of blood diseases it is necessary to launch awareness campaigns at different levels of the society and called for using simple and common methods in awareness campaigns instead of adopting complex and technical jargon.
The President said that there is a need to pay attention to the rural particularly backward and less developed areas as they are afflicted the most from these problems. The President noted that in addition to the governments the responsibility of welfare organizations and professional institutions have increased in those countries which are plagued with such problems. “I am proud of the services rendered by our people in this sector but there is a lot to be done in rural and backward areas”, remarked the President.
President Mamnoon Hussain said that the government is paying special attention to ensure safe blood transfusion systems across the country. “Network of regional blood transfusion centers on the lines of international standards would soon be established throughout the country”, hoped the President.
