The President address the “Inauguration Ceremony of 40th International Nathiagali Summer College

President Mamnoon Hussain has said that discriminatory treatment is being meted out to some nations in certain regions of the world in different fields of science in connection with education adding that the complaint is more obvious in the matter of physics.
The President said this while addressing the “Inauguration Ceremony of 40th International Nathiagali Summer College (INSC) on Physics and Contemporary Needs” here in National centre for Physics, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad on Monday.
The President stated that only those nations excel and mark their footprints in the world which demonstrate exceptional performance in the field of science and technology. Time has proved that either its industry & commerce, trade, defence or the field of economy, the acquisition of progress and supremacy in these sectors depends upon expertise in science and technology, observed the President.
The President noted that despite lack of resources and difficult situation, excellent science and technology institutions have been established in Pakistan. The President emphasized that all imperative measures would have to be taken in order to promote scientific thought in Pakistan.  The sensitization about scientific subjects to enable the new generation for understanding contemporary scientific ideas is must, said the President. The President expressed hope that Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and related national departments would continue to play their role in this regard.  
The President noted with appreciation that PAEC and other such institutes have kept the academic activities going even in uncertain circumstances. The President paid tribute to all institutes and assured that support of the state would always be there for such productive activities.
The President appreciated the performance of scientific institutions of Pakistan and stated that their membership of international agencies of scientific education and research like CERN, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEC), International Centre for Theoretical Physics and Middle East’s institute SESAME is manifestation of their excellent standing in their field.
