President for stronger bilateral ties between Pakistan, Maldives

President Mamnoon Hussain has called upon investors from Maldives to take advantage of the liberal investment policies in Pakistan.

 The President said this while talking to Vice Admiral (Retd) Sayyid Khawar Ali, Pakistan’s High Commissioner-designate to Maldives, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on 15thSeptember, 2015.

The President urged the High Commissioner-designate to ensure implementation of agreements signed between the two countries for enhancement of cooperation. The President stressed upon identification of prospective areas of cooperation to further diversify and strengthen bilateral relations.

 The President asked the High Commissioner-designate to follow up on the recent successful visit of the President of Maldives to Pakistan in order to increase bilateral trade between the two countries according to its true potential.

 President Mamnoon Hussain emphasized the importance of greater people to people contacts and the need to establish linkages with those Maldives nationals who have studied or received training in Pakistan in order to further strengthen bilateral relations. President Mamnoon Hussain advised the envoy to endeavour to increase cooperation between Maldives and Pakistan on international forums to deepen ties between the two friendly countries.

President Mamnoon Hussain congratulated Vice Admiral (Retd) Sayyid Khawar Ali, Pakistan’s High Commissioner-designate to Maldives on his new appointment and wished him success in his assignment.
