President Mamnoon Hussain here on Saturday emphasized on promotion of quality and modern education especially of females for a developed and prosperous Pakistan. The female are more than 55 percent of our population and they should be adorned with modern academic disciplines and technologies to fully participate in every profession and in the nation building activities, the President said.
“I have always tried for promotion of female education,” he said while speaking at the convocation-2014 of Jinnah University for Women (JUW), first university exclusively for women in the country.
Chancellor of JUW, Wajihuddin Ahmed and Vice Chancellor Dr. Naeem Farooqui along with faculty heads welcomed the President. A large number of students gave standing ovation to the President.
The President urged the students to excel in their faculties and then make the best contribution towards social and economic revolution in the country. Research and information technology should be focused, stressed the President. He underlined that still a lot is to be done to promote literacy and quality education in the country.
He referred to Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (PCEC) and said it is based on a series of mega projects in different sectors. Thus, he said, there will be a lot of opportunities for young professionals to utilize their talent and energy.
President Mamnoon rejected the impression of any change in the route of PCEC and explained that there were four options regarding the route to be adopted.
With launch of PCEC, not only the people of all provinces of Pakistan will benefit but a new era of economic activities has started in the entire region, he said. He advised the people to beware and resist the negative propaganda about PCEC by certain elements.
The President highlighted the achievements of the present government and hoped the country will soon overcome terrorism and energy issues. Ninety percent areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA have been cleared of terrorism and the armed forces and the government are determined to fight till the last terrorist on our homeland is caught or killed. He said the government is also making serious and sincere efforts to address grievances of the people of Balochistan.
