President Mamnoon Hussain has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the killing of Punjab Home Minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada in a suicide attack in Attock on Sunday. The President extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for them to bear this irreparable loss with courage and fortitude. The President paid glowing tributes to the unflinching resolve of Shaheed Shuja Khanzada in fight against terrorists and said that the martyrdom of Home Minister would not go in vain. The nation would forever remember the commendable services rendered by the late Punjab Home Minister for the cause of motherland, stated the President. Strongly condemning the terrorist attack in Attock, the President emphasized that such cowardly attacks cannot dent the determination of the people and reiterated the commitment that the whole nation stands united in eliminating the scourge of terrorism and extremism from the country.
The President also expressed condolences for the other people martyred in the blast and commiserated with the families of the deceased. The President directed the authorities’ concerned to expedite the rescue efforts and provide the best medical treatment to the injured in the attack. The President also prayed for the salvation of the martyred souls.
