President Mamnoon Hussain urged on improving the quality of healthcare services in the hospitals of Islamabad.
The President said this while Chairing a high level meeting to review provision of healthcare services in the federal capital here at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday.
Barrister Usman Ibrahim, Minister of State, Capital Administration and Development Division gave a comprehensive briefing to the President regarding health service delivery in the hospitals of Islamabad. The President called for improving the quality of services in the hospitals including PIMS within the available resources.
The President stressed on improving the standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the hospitals for the safety of patients adding that a modern mechanism should also be set up for disposal of used syringes. The President stated that effective steps should be taken promptly to improve the existing state of affairs in public sector hospitals in the capital in coordination with all concerned departments.
The President also directed to form a spot checking committee to inspect the provision of facilities and quality drugs in hospitals, and behaviour of the staff with the patients.
The meeting was attended by Barrister Usman Ibrahim,Minister of State, Capital Administration and Development Division, Member National Assembly Zeb Jaffar, Khalid Hanif, Secretary CADD, Dr. Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University and high officials of the President’s Secretariat.
