President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Jordan and other Middle Eastern countries. The President stated that Pakistan and Jordan enjoy close and brotherly relations which are rooted in common faith, culture and history.
The President said this while talking to Ambassador-designate to Jordan Lt. General (Retd) Shafaat Ullah Shah who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday. The President felicitated the ambassador-designate on his new assignment and hoped that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Jordan would reach new heights during his tenure.
The President stated that Pakistan is keen to enhance its relations with Jordan in all fields of mutual interest particularly in defence. The President emphasized the need to enhance the volume of trade to realize true trade potential between the two countries adding in this regard business delegation exchanges could be effective. The President advised the envoy designate to project Pakistan’s image as a moderate, progressive, responsible and development oriented country.
The President wished the Ambassador-designate success in his new assignment.
